How to make Kasuri Methi at home

Wash the fenugreek leaves thoroughly and pat them dry with a clean cloth

There are three main methods for drying fenugreek leaves:

2. Oven-drying: This is a quicker option for those impatient cooks (like me sometimes!).
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Wash and dry the fenugreek leaves. Spread them out in a single layer on the baking tray.
Bake for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure even drying.
Keep an eye on the leaves; they can burn quickly. Once they turn crisp and crumble easily, they’re done!

Microwave-drying: This is the fastest method, but requires more attention.
Wash and dry the fenugreek leaves.
Place a single layer of leaves on a microwave-safe plate.
Microwave on high for 30-second intervals, checking on the leaves after each interval.
The leaves are dry when they become brittle and crumble easily. Be careful not to overcook them, as they can burn.

Storing your Kasuri Methi:
Once your kasuri methi is cool, crumble the leaves with your hands or grind them in a mortar and pestle.
Store them in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. Your homemade kasuri methi will stay fresh and flavorful for up to a year!
